Well the 2008 / 2009 season has now
arrived and we start the new campaign in Division 6. This could be
as a result of our talented team and impressive results...but it
isn't. The League has had a bit of a shake up and, as a result, we
got promoted to the dizzy heights of division 6. Come down and cheer
us on as we endeavour to win promotion at the end of this season.
Feel free to click on any of the links on the left to see how the
season pans out and
have a wander round and get to know us.
We
are a friendly side and as our name suggests we play in the
Cheltenham league in division 6 of 10. The team has been going for
30 years with a number of the founding members still playing.
It is, with great
sadness, that we have to announce that the Cheltenham Allsorts
recently lost a player and good friend in
Tony Fitzsimmons who,
sadly, passed away in July after a short illness.
'Fitzy' was a regular with the allsorts and will be greatly missed
by friends and family alike.
Please follow the Hyperlink to read about him.
Our Home alley is the
"St James Hotel" in Cheltenham and is on the corner just along from
the bowling green near the lower end of the High Street. Our home
night is a Tuesday Night. As Gents skittles in Cheltenham are played
on either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, The majority of nights we
play is on Tuesday. We have players of all ages in the side, running
from 29 to 75. We pride ourselves in the fact that we play for all
the best reasons that whether we win, lose or draw we have a good
night and a couple beers. But at the same time we are still quite
competitive as we do like to win. Please see the fixture list for
dates of up and coming matches and results for those already
completed.
Whether you are an expert or a complete novice and you fancy
playing skittles, why not drop us an E-mail to
info@cheltenhamallsorts.co.uk
with your name and phone number and one of our team will
give you a call.
